ایجاد و توسعه خوشه­های صنعتی در قطب­های کشاورزی مناطق کوهستانی راهکاری اساسی برای غلبه بر محدودیت­های شغلی است. هدف از این پژوهش توانسنجی و اولویت‌بندی مکانی ایجاد خوشه­های صنعتی در قطب­های کشاورزی با استفاده از روش­های سنجش از دور است که برای این هدف، شهرستان طارم به عنوان نمونه مطالعه شده‌است. پژوهش حاضر از نظر هدف از نوع کاربردی و از نظر ماهیت و روش، توصیفی-تحلیلی است. برای گردآوری اطلاعات از روش­های کتابخانه­ای و اسنادی، میدانی و تصاویر ماهوارهای استفاده شد. قلمرو مکانی پژوهش، محدوده شهرستان طارم در استان زنجان است. با استفاده از تصاویر ماهواره­ای لندست 8، نقشه­های طبقه­بندی شده اراضی استخراج شد. به­منظور شناسایی الگوی پراکنش اراضی کشاورزی به ویژه خوشه­های فعالیتی، داده­های ماهواره­ای با استفاده از نرم­افزارهای ENVI، IDRISI SELVA و ARCGIS تحلیل فضایی شد. برای تعیین محدوده‌های مناسب برای خوشه­های صنعتی با تأکید بر خوشه­های کشاورزی از روش تحلیل لکه­های داغ و آماره گتیس­جی استفاده شد. بدین منظور، سه اولویت پهنهای در شهرستان طارم شناسایی شد. اولویت اول، در محدوده سکونتگاه­های اصلی شهرستان طارم یعنی چورزق، آب­بر و گیلوان قرار گرفته‌است. برتری نسبی این پهنه بیشتر به خاطر وجود منابع انسانی این محدوده­ها است که امکان برنامه­ریزی خوشه­های صنعتی-کشاورزی را با تکیه به وجود سرمایه­های انسانی ممکن می­سازد. اولویت دوم، عمدتاً در لایه بلافصل پهنه اول قرار دارد که به نوعی توانسته از پتانسیل­های منابع انسانی مربوط به اولویت اول، بهره گیرد. اولویت­ سوم، از منابع انسانی فاصله بیشتری دارد، اما سایر پتانسیل­ها در این مناطق، امکان گسترش خوشه­های صنعتی-کشاورزی را در این محدوده­ها فراهم می­سازد. آنچه که در بررسی این خوشه­ها نیز مشخص است، وجود فضاهای بیشتر در محدوده چورزق برای گسترش خوشه­های صنعتی-کشاورزی است که در واقع تمرکز پتانسیل­ها را در محدوده بیشتری ممکن می­سازد.
