The Journal of Geographical Studies of Mountainous Areas (JGSMA) is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing research and scholarship on the diverse dimensions of mountainous regions, published by Lorestan University. The journal provides a forum for the dissemination of original studies, critical reviews, and theoretical contributions that explore the complexity and significance of mountain environments.
    The scope of JGSMA encompasses a wide range of subjects, including Mountain Geography, Geomorphology of Highlands, Climate and Environmental Change in Mountains, Mountain Ecosystems and Biodiversity, Human–Environment Interactions in Mountainous Areas, Sustainable Development in Mountain Regions, Natural Hazards and Risk Management in Mountains, and Cultural Landscapes of Mountainous Areas. By integrating insights from physical and human geography, as well as interdisciplinary approaches, the journal seeks to foster a comprehensive understanding of mountain systems and their global importance.
