امنیت یکی از شاخص های مهم در راستای توسعه صنعت گردشگری است. این شاخص بر متغیرهای مختلفی می تواند تاثیرگذار باشد که از مهمترین آنها، متغیر مدت زمان اقامت گردشگران است. مدت زمان اقامت گردشگران، نقش اساسی در توسعه اقتصادی و اجتماعی مناطق گردشگری ایفاء می نماید. هدف این تحقیق بررسی نقش و تاثیرات شاخص امنیت از جنبه های مختلف بر مدت زمان اقامت گردشگران در استان چهارمحال و بختیاری است. روش تحقیق، توصیفی-تحلیلی و مبتنی بر گردآوری داده ها از طریق روش پیمایشی با استفاده از ابزار پرسش نامه بوده است. روایی پرسش نامه انجام و پایایی نیز با آلفای کرونباخ بیشتر از 70/0 تایید شد. جامعه آماری تحقیق را گردشگران حاضر در شش منطقه شامل شهر چلگرد و روستاهای دیمه، شیخ علیخان، سرآقاسید، بنواستکی و قلعه تبرک تشکیل داده اند که آماری در زمینه تعداد آنها در دسترس نبوده است. حجم نمونه 250 گردشگر تعیین شد. نتیجه نشان داد که 17 عامل بر مدت زمان اقامت گردشگران در سطح معناداری کمتر از 05/0 تاثیرگذار هستند. بیشترین تاثیرگذاری مربوط به عامل قیمت و هزینه خدمات با میانگین 99/3 و سپس عامل وجود اقامتگاه با میانگین 89/3 است. نتیجه آزمون تی تکنمونهای نشان داد که سه شاخص امنیت اجتماعی-فرهنگی، امنیت اقتصادی و شاخص امنیتی اقامتگاه های گردشگری، در سطح کمتر از 05/0 بر مدت زمان اقامت گردشگران نقش دارد. همچنین نتیجه رگرسیون نیز از تاثیرگذاری شاخص امنیت اقتصادی 32 درصد، شاخص امنیت اجتماعی و فرهنگی 25 درصد و شاخص امنیت اقامتگاه های گردشگری 21 درصد بر متغیر مدت زمان اقامت گردشگران اشاره دارد. سنجش وضعیت مولفه امنیت در مناطق گردشگری نیز با سطح معناداری کمتر از 05/0 و میانگین 29/3 تایید می نماید که وضعیت مولفه امنیت متوسط ارزیابی شده است.
